1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the LocalPlayer app and its related website and support channels.

2. Information LocalPlayer handles

The information handled depends on the features you choose to use:

3. How information is used

LocalPlayer uses this information to build and sort video lists, prepare and play selected media, remember playback position and preferences, provide Pro entitlements, measure app launches, request an App Store review at an appropriate time, and respond to support or legal requests.

4. Photos, Files, and local processing

Photos access is controlled by iOS. You may grant full or limited access or turn access off. Files are selected through the system file picker. LocalPlayer stores bookmarks so chosen file playlist items can remain available across launches.

Playback, thumbnails, sorting, filters, playlists, and progress are processed on the device. When a Photos asset cannot be played directly, the app may create a temporary local copy for playback preparation.

If iCloud Photos or another file provider is enabled, Apple or that provider may download the selected media according to your system and provider settings. LocalPlayer does not upload your videos to a developer-operated media cloud.

5. Anonymous launch reporting

When the app launches, it sends an event to the developer's ProductPulse service. The event payload contains a ProductPulse source key and a randomly generated persistent installation identifier. It does not contain your photos, videos, file names, playlist contents, or playback history.

As with ordinary internet requests, hosting infrastructure may process network and technical data such as an IP address, request time, and HTTP metadata for delivery, security, and diagnostics.

6. Pro purchases

LocalPlayer Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple handles payment credentials and billing. LocalPlayer receives product details and verified transaction or entitlement status needed to complete and restore the purchase. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's policies.

7. Sharing and third parties

Information may be processed by Apple for Photos, Files, App Store purchases, and review prompts; by ProductPulse and its hosting infrastructure for launch reporting; and by website or email providers when you visit these pages or contact support. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights or safety, or with your direction. We do not sell your photos or videos.

8. Storage and retention

Playlists, bookmarks, settings, progress, counters, and the installation identifier remain in local app storage until you remove the relevant item, clear app data, reset the device data, or uninstall the app. Temporary playback files may be removed by the app or system. Launch records, server logs, purchase records held by Apple, and support messages may be retained as reasonably needed for their stated purpose, security, legal obligations, and dispute handling.

9. Your choices

You can manage Photos permission in iOS Settings, choose which Files items to add, remove file items from the playlist without deleting the originals, change local preferences, or uninstall the app to remove its local data. Deleting a Photos video is a separate action that uses the iOS confirmation flow and may remove the original from Photos. Contact us to ask about information you submitted through support channels.

10. Children's privacy

LocalPlayer is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children who cannot provide valid consent. If you believe a child has submitted information through a support channel, please contact us.

11. Security

We limit information handling and rely on iOS permissions and app sandboxing for local data. No device, network, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app, services, or legal requirements change. Questions or requests can be sent to [email protected].
